Melanoma: Can Cause The Lymph Nodes Groin To Become Swollen?

I know they can become swollen. DO they stay swollen or do they go back down to normal size and then will become swollen again?

If melanoma has spread to the lymph nodes and they enlarge, then you would expect them to remain enlarged. There are several causes for swollen lymph nodes, such as cancer and infection. Enlarged groin lymph nodes can also be a normal variant, but they would be less than 1 cm in size. Fluctuating size of the lymph nodes is more consistent with infection, but it still could be an odd behaving melanoma. If melanoma involves your lymph nodes, then they require surgical removal. Good luck.
