What are the risks of the biopsy of a brown spot, 9/5 mm, on the skin (melanoma?)? Biopsy could make it worse?

melanoma

The family doctor recommended removing this spot to prevent possible future skin problems. It didn’t change the shape and size in the last two months.

No, a biopsy won’t make it worse.

You could lose your life if you don’t have it removed though.

Funny you should ask! I had two biopsies on two very different looking spots. One I was worried about and the other I did’nt even know I had. The one I did not know about turned out to be first stage melanoma (the bad kind)
A biopsy can not be bad if it saves your life. Have it removed regardless of the change if the doctor recommends it. Good luck!
